With extensive international experience in the hippest restaurants serving Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei cuisine, brothers Marcel and Sascha Ruhm have been enriching Vienna’s gourmet scene in the 4th district for over five years now.

The creations of this extravagant fusion cuisine that are conjured up onto the plates here are something truly special. Now, the interior of the restaurant also follows suit with equal parts fascination and authenticity.

Japan and Peru, this union of opposites that makes the cuisine at DiningRuhm so exciting and unique, also served as a source of inspiration for the interior design. Here, in line with the motto “the fusion of interior design”, traits from two different worlds have been brought together to collide but also to complement one another in an extraordinary way and bring out the best in each other. Refined, clear and quiet on one side, this is contrasted by expressive, colorful and floral elements on the other.

The subdued ceiling painted in smoky green offers a masterly backdrop for the illuminated wall featuring red meshwork. This acts as a central eye-catcher in the room and is somewhat reminiscent of the Japanese version of Viennese mesh in the form of traditional newspaper holders. The striking floral wallpaper design on the adjacent wall serves as an opulent optical contrast.

The constellation of colors and materials in the back area is also rich in contrast. Instead of delicate chairs, here guests will find soft cushioned seats and a dark oak floor flirting with the light ceiling in a vibrant coral.
