Nestled in the picturesque hills of the Styrian Vulkanland region, Genusshotel Riegersburg has undergone a stunning redesign by Derenko, blending regional authenticity with elevated hospitality design. Owned by the Gölles family – renowned for their fine vinegars and spirits – the hotel now presents a spatial concept that celebrates nature, wine culture, and seamless functionality.
The redesign focused on repositioning key areas such as the reception, lobby, bar, buffet, restaurant, and terrace to create improved guest flow and elevated comfort. Panoramic views of the iconic Riegersburg castle remain a focal point, with large glass fronts and an expanded terrace bringing the outdoors in.
Natural materials like wood, clay, and stone define the interiors, enhanced by earthy color palettes and curated lighting. The terrace, now twice its original size, offers a harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor areas and invites guests to fully immerse themselves in the surrounding landscape.
The newly designed bar and wine zone celebrate Austrian wine culture, with a dedicated wine cellar and climate-controlled display integrated into the seating area. This thoughtful feature invites guests to experience Styrian wine traditions firsthand.
With warm hospitality, timeless materials, and a design language rooted in its surroundings, Derenko transformed Genusshotel Riegersburg into a refined haven of indulgence, regional identity, and visual storytelling.
