The “Saigon Restaurant am Getreidemarkt” made the most of the summer months and underwent an extensive renovation. Alongside an entirely new interior, the corporate identity was also given a fresh look.
The original idea of the owners was to not only serve up Vietnamese culture on the plates, but rather to reflect the sentiment of Vietnam’s history and tradition in the premises of their restaurant as well.
Reddish brown wood with a mahogany appearance is present in all the rooms. Many different hues of green, from dark to pastel – in homage to the country’s luscious nature – are reflected in wall colors, fabrics and tiles. Mandela-like wood rosettes and carved elements that exude a hint of French colonial style decorate walls and parts of the generous bar front.
It was important to integrate the diversity of the country in the design considerations. For example, specially made wall graphics artfully draw attention to typical scenes from daily Vietnamese life. Decorative elements such as bamboo lights reminiscent of traditional fish traps and relief-like ornamental tiles behind the bar round out the concept.
